Back by popular demand...how to read ebooks without a Kindle...
The following is the link to a listing of free bestselling books on Kindle this week. If you don't have a Kindle, follow the steps at the bottom to add the app to your PC, which will allow you to read any Kindle book on your computer. It's free and it's easy!

When the Amazon page opens, the list to the left is the top 100 ebooks, the list to the right is the top free 100 ebooks. While you're browsing, please check out my new release by clicking on the link below.

Follow these steps to download the Kindle app:

2) Scroll down. You'll see "Kindle for PC" to the right
3) Click to download the Kindle app
4) Go back to my page above and you can download my book to read the first few chapters for free. This will let you know it's working. When it downloads, you'll see the number "1" in the Archive at the top left.
5) Click on Archive to move the book over to your library.
6) Enjoy!
7) If you want to look at the bestsellers, click on "Kindle Books" on the toolbar at the top of the page. Click on "Kindle Bestsellers" to the left or follow the link above.
8) If you like the free viewing of "Queen of Hearts," I'd appreciate your supporting my work by buying the book. Thanks so much and enjoy the Kindle books!

  3. that's awesome, but when i downloaded the sample, it doesn't put a 1 in the archive spot. is that a problem?

I think that sometimes there's a glitch. I was trying to download a sample of a book the other night and I couldn't get it. Try another sample or an entire free book and see what happens.

    Donna:
You must not be too technically challenged. You have Queen of Hearts. A few people have won it on blogs that had no idea how to get it downloaded.

  6. CT:
I'm pretty new to it myself, but all my books are under home. I started using it because I wanted to download a copy of my book to see how it looked on the Kindle. I'm glad I did. I love Kindle books.

  8. You are awesome and thanks for taking the time to create this list. I was unable to create collections on the PC Kindle application but that is ok, I'm good at scanning titles for the one I seek! Thanks again.

  9. K. Dawn, I can't thank you enough for introducing me to ebooks! I downloaded a few of the free books to give them a try on vacation (our cruise to Alaska we just returned from). They were just right for a quick & easy read at airport, Amtrak, and on the cruise deck. I downloaded a few more from the free list you posted and before long I'll be buying some books. I never thought I would be willing to give up my actual books, but thanks to you, I found an easy way transport my books!

    Thanks,
    Beverly

I told you that you'd be hooked! I have about 25 in my netbook and Blackberry right now. It's great to have 25 books to choose from while on the go without actually lugging them around.

  12. Are you able to use the kindle on different computers? I'm at work and just downloaded it. But would like to have it on my laptop, actually. Can you have it on both?

  13. Rosie:
I've downloaded the Kindle app on both my laptop and netbook, so you should be able to do this with no problem.

The easiest way I've found to do it is to pull up my book page (link in post). I then scroll down under "Product Details" and then click on "See Top 100 Paid on Kindle Store." Once the page loads, you'll see the top 100 freebies to the right. I hope this helps.

I still prefer paper, but it is nice to have something for on the go as well. Thanks so much for letting us know about this!! I didn't realize that they had so many for free, this is awesome! :) Great blog too! :)

  18. I downloaded the free app out of curiosity. I am a died-in-the-wool-gotta-have-the-book-in-my-hand type of reader. There is just something special about the feel and smell of a new book. However, I am always open to trying new things so I may wind up reading more on the Kindle than I think I will. Thanks for providing the info to make this available.

The first thing I did was read the sample of Queen of Hearts. I am hooked and have to get my hands (or eyes) on the complete story - can't wait to read it!

  19. I'm so glad you liked "Queen of Hearts," Jan Marie. It's available only in eformat at the current time.

I love books too, but am hoooked on ebooks now. I read them on my netbook and my Blackberry.
