Fireproof is Awesome!

Okay, I admit it. I stay so busy that I just saw Fireproof. I work full-time and almost every spare minute is spent writing. I have one word for Fireproof...my step-daughter's favorite word....AMAZING! Even my husband loved it. It's a must see for every married couple whether you have a strong marriage or yearn for a strong marriage. I can't recommend it enough. If you've seen it, I'd love to read your comments.

  1. Thanks for the vote for the movie. My sister recommended it to me when it first came out, but I didn't get a chance to see it then & forgot about it. You post made me remember how much she insisted EVERY couple should see it.

  2. I have heard it is great by a lot of people but my husband and I have not yet had a chance. We need to make it a priority.

  3. Oh, EVERYONE should see this movie, married or not. It is a simply marvelous story by Sherwood pictures. It is one of our favorite family movies. Have you see Facing the Giants? Another must see by the same church.

  4. My hubby and I have seen it. In my opinion, it is the best movie ever made for married couples. We have a strong marriage and it served to make our marriage even stronger. I can't really say enough good things about it. The workbook that goes with the move is also excellent. I am a Christian counselor and have recommended the movie/workbook to a number of couples. The directors, producers and actors/actresses are to be commended!

  5. My husband I saw it and loved it. A friend of ours was running a Fireproof workshop going through the workbook for couples. Unfortunately my husband and I didn't get a chance to do it. I'm still longing for that strong marriage.

  6. My initial reason for wanting to see Fireproof had very little to do with the storyline. I wanted to see it because I just ADORE Kirk Cameron. My bedroom used to be wallpapered in Kirk Cameron posters. Hearing about his unashamed stand for Christ only made me admire the man even more!

When my pastor and his wife offered to babysit our three children so that my husband and I could have a date night to see Fireproof in the theater, I was thrilled! My husband is not one to spend money on going out to a movie. Normally, he rents it as soon as it is available. Getting to go see this one was really a God thing--a very good God thing. I can't tell you how much we needed it. A year ago, we bought the book THE LOVE DARE that was featured in the movie. Sad to say, it just sort of sat on a shelf, collecttig dust for much of that time. Shortly before Christmas, our marriage hit a rough patch. I pulled out the book ad decided that I would work through it. What I wanted to do was hit my husband over the head with it and tell him that he needed to work through The Dare on his own!!! Yet I knew that I needed to work on ME and allow God to work on my hubby. Life has gotten in the way, and I haven't been able to do a new day every day. But I am keeping at it! And already I am seeing a lot of changes in my marriage--changes in me and in my husband.

I've been blogging about my experiences with The Love Dare. The link to that is below, if you are interested!
