Kimberly Rose Johnson's "The Christmas Promise"

The Christmas Promise by Harlequin’s Heartsong Presents

Cover blurb:

No matter how lovely Keira Noble's smile, or how adorable her four-year-old son. He's been down that road before and knows it can lead to a broken heart. But that doesn't mean he can't help the pretty widow find a puppy to put under the Christmas tree for her son….

Pete claims he only wants to help her find the perfect gift for Cody. Yet Keira can't deny the tender feelings in his eyes whenever he looks at her. Could this handsome Scrooge have a change of heart, and create a new family for Christmas?

1) How did this story come to you?
I wanted to write a book in a cool setting, so I traveled to Leavenworth Washington for inspiration. As I walked around the village the story began to form in my mind.

2) Tell us about the journey to getting this book published.

Like most writers my journey to publication took some time. I wrote romantic suspense for six years before giving up and trying contemporary romance thanks to my agent’s and a good friend’s suggestion. The first contemporary romance I wrote is The Christmas Promise.

3) Tell me three things about yourself that would surprise your readers.

I always have a song in my head and often burst out singing or humming in the middle of a song—lol I don’t do this in public.  I started taking piano lessons in the 6th grade and taught piano lessons for 17 years. Whenever I’m just listening to music I often count the beats in my head—kind of nuts and someone annoying.

4) What are you working on now and what's next for you?
I’m currently working on the fourth book in my series that takes place in Leavenworth. The second book in the series, A Romance Rekindled releases in June.

5) Parting comments?

Thanks for having me! It’s been so much fun sharing about my debut novel, The Christmas Promise. I hope you’ll either leave a comment here, or drop by my website and say hi. I also have a blog where I post twice a week.

7) Where can fans find you on the internet?
