We're happy to have Angela Meyer with us today talking about her book, Where Healing Starts.

From the cover:Joanna, full of bitterness over the past, can no longer ignore the growing storm inside her and is bent on self-destruction as she seeks to ease her pain. But the refuge she seeks is always out of her reach.

Her brother Blake must choose between what has always been safe and what he has always wanted. One mistake after another leads him down a dangerous path.

The one for all, all for one sibling bond can’t help them now. They are both determined to hang onto their anger, never forgetting. Never forgiving. They see no reason to trust God.

After so many years of turmoil, will the Hannigan siblings find refuge in the God who loves them? Or will they get lost along the way?

How did this story come to you? When I was a young adulthood, the early years of being out of the house and on my own, I had

This morphed into the idea of the Hannigan family. How their upbringing influenced who they became as adults and how they worked past those dysfunctional influences to find God and His grace for redemption.

This is not in any way a retelling of my family.
numerous conversations with my sisters about why we did life the way we did. We each had similar
upbringing, yet each of us turned out so different. What from our childhood influenced certain behaviors and choices?

Tell us about the journey to getting this book published. The journey of Where Healing Starts really starts with Where Hope Starts, book 1 in the series. The book was written and edited. I attended a conference I received an anonymous scholarship to where I met the editor for my publisher CrossRiver Media and they invited me to submit my book.

Unknown to me, at the time, things were shifting in my marriage. The story in Where Hope Starts begins with the husband’s betrayal and follows the couples journey on God’s redemptive path. Once I found out what was going on in my own marriage, I was knee deep editing a book with the theme of forgiveness. In God’s kindness, He prepared my heart to forgive and gave me a project that would put me face to face with my choice every day.

Tell me three things about yourself that would surprise your readers.I worked as a nanny after college until my husband and I had our first child.
I won 3rd place in a national lab assistant skills contest through the vocational school I went to.
I sat on a baby chick when I was 2 years old. (That’s what hens do to keep their babies warm, right?)

What are you working on now and what's next for you?I am already working on the third book in the series, Where Joy Starts which continues the story of the Hannigan siblings and God’s redemption in the middle of their family’s dysfunction. I am also working on a children’s book.

Parting comments? My hope is that when each reader closes the last pages of Where Healing Starts they will come away with a greater confidence that God can and does redeem anything that we are willing to give to Him.
